Unit 238 - Air, Ice & Water: Ice Station
[B.Arch 01] - This Ice Station was designed and built for the Ramsey lake skating path in Sudbury Ontario. This is a community event that takes place each year.
Unit 238 is assembled from two separate walls and it is completely biodegradable there are no mechanical fasteners, instead, we used a natural casein glue which we made from milk protein and jute twine to fasten all the units together. Each Unit was made from strips of pine that we had cut down and then they were steamed, after the steaming process we placed each strip in a form to create the bend. After they dried in the forms we began to assemble each unit.
